Howard J. Allen, a former well known resident of Farnam and vicinity, passed away in a Seattle hospital on January 19 of a heart attack.

Born in Gothenburg February 2, 1889, he was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Allen, who both preceded him in death several years ago.

He was married to Miss Erma Bowes of Fort Morgan, Colorado, in 1913 and to this union were born four children: Mrs. Helen Hastings, Auburn, Washington; William A. of North Platte; Captain Richard J. of Wichita, Kansas; George H. of Chebalis, Washington. He also leaves four grandchildren. All his family survives him. Besides other relatives, he leaves a host of friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services were held at the Fissell Funeral Home in Chehalis and interment was in Claquato Cemetery at Chehalis.
