Earl R. Morton

TORRINGTON — Earl R. Morton, 71, of Torrington, died at his home Friday afternoon.

He was born Aug. 18, 1890, at Curtis. He married Florence Hudson at Stockville on March 28, 1914. They came to Wyoming in 1917 and homesteaded in the Goshen Hold Community. They moved to Torrington in 1923.

Mr. Morton operated a barber shop here until ill health forced his retirement four years ago.

He was past master of Torrington Lodge 29, AF&AM. He was also a member of the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Torrington chapter of the Izaak Walton League. He belonged to United Presbyterian Church of Torrington.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Cletis D. of Seattle, Wash., Dorlyne H. of Torrington and Gaylord of Sheridan, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. R. G. Lynch and Mrs. Hazel Lawson, both of Broken Bow; one brother, Dale of Springfield, Ore.; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held at the United Presbyterian Church of Torrington. Time of services will be announced by Colyer Funeral Home, when arrangements are completed. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
