Fred Darnall
Fred Newton Darnall, a resident of Cordova, Nebr., for many years, passed away after a long illness, April 18th, 1955, aged 72 years and 18 days. He was the eldest son of Isaac and Emma Darnall.
He was born near Garland, Nebr., on March 20, 1883. He lived the most of his life in Seward county. He was a farmer and carpenter until the last twenty years when he worked at the well business until death called him away.
He was married to Miss Clara Herrold Sept. 14th, 1904. To this union four children were born: Wilbur of Eustis, Nebr., Orris of Long Beach, Calif., Evern of Grand Island. One daughter, Mrs. Fred Flowerday of San Jose, Calif.
He is survived by his wife Clara, and the four children; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Chapman of Seward, Mrs. George Grandorff of Centralia, Wash., and Mrs. Anna Rhoades of Fr. Laramie, Wyo.; two brothers, Walter Darnall of Olympia, Wash., and Bill Darnall of Orange, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of relatives, friends and neighbors.
Mr. and Mrs. Darnall celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 14, 1954.
The funeral was held at the home at Cordova, April 21, with Rev. Burt of Utica in charge. Singing were Mrs. Walter Johnsen, Mrs. Monty Petersen, Mrs. J. C. Mogensen and Mrs. Verlin Petersen.
Pallbearers were Seward Judy, Martin Petersen, Woodrow Hansen, Harry Noler, Tom Jensen and Jens Petersen. Burial was in the Utica cemetery.
