Willis R. Preston was born Feb. 3, 1885 at Red Oak, Iowa and died at his home in North Platte July 10 of this year.

He came with his parents to Brewster, Neb., and later moved to Farnam where he attended school, graduating from the high school there in 1903.

He was married to Edna Parker Aug. 15, 1905 at Holdrege. The couple had two children.

The family moved to the Dickens community in 1914 where Mr. Preston owned and operated a hardware store and lumber yard.

They moved to North Platte in 1939 and Mr. Preston organized his own construction firm.

He was still active in business until the time of his death of a heart condition.

Survivors are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Iola Edington of San Lorenzo, Calif., a son Lloyd of Alma; a brother Frank of Farnam, and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Adams of Doniphan. Other survivors are four grandchildren. His parents and a sister preceded him in death.
