Leslie Sylvester Cole

Leslie S. Cole, 72, 108 Maple St. Eaton, Colorado, died at his home Tuesday, December 2, 1975. He was a former mayer of Eaton.

He was born at Farnam, Nebraska on March 13, 1903 to [Charles G. and Sylvia A. (Phillips) Cole] and in 19?? moved to Cambridge, Nebraska where he married Iva Harris on August 20, 1924. She died November 20, 1955.

Cole moved to Brush in 1934, and to Eaton in 1939. On June 15, 1959, he married Ethel (Bennett) Manion at Fort Collins. He was a member of the Ault Christian Church.

He was associated with the International Harvester Company since 1939 as a salesman, the last sixteen years with Ellis and Capp Equipment Company.

Cole was a town councilman and active in Eaton civic affairs and served as mayor for two years.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel of Eaton; two daughters, Mrs. Norma Wonenberg of Greeley and Mrs. Wilma Scleen of Fort Morgan; a step-daughter, Mrs. Martha Benson of Eaton; two brothrs, George of Chetopa, Kansas and Vern of Denver; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Macy Allnutt Drawing Room with interment in Linn Grove Cemetery. The body will lie in state until 1 p.m.. in the Macy Allnutt Drawing Room.

Friends may make memorial contributions to the Golden Harvest Boys Ranch, Briggsdale, Colorado.
