Raymond L. "Bud" Feddersen

Raymond L. "Bud" Feddersen, 81, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington.

He was born November 24, 1932, in Farnam, Nebraska to Wilbert and Doris (Roberts) Feddersen. He attended school at Buffalo, Nebraska. Following school he worked for area farmers and hay mills.

Bud joined the United States Navy serving his country during the Korean Conflict from April 1, 1952, until being honorably discharged on March 27, 1956. Following the service he returned to Nebraska where he married Dorothy Welliver on August 29, 1956, in Elwood, Nebraska. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Ann, Jeff, and Scott.

Following the couple’s marriage, Bud worked for Britton Construction and then Paulsen Construction. They moved all over Nebraska while Bud built schools and churches. He decided they needed a more settled life and moved to Lexington in 1969, where he continued to work for Paulsen’s until retiring in 1998.

Bud loved horses his whole life. He loved to ride and train them up until just a few years ago. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. His greatest love was being with family and playing cards and games. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his greatest joys.

Bud is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years; Dot Feddersen of Lexington, Nebraska; daughter, Ann and husband Pete Bellows of Las Cruces, New Mexico; two sons, Jeff and wife Debbie Feddersen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and, Scott and wife Anna Feddersen of Kearney, Nebraska; two brothers; Jerry and wife Peggy Feddersen of Grand Island, Nebraska; and, Ken and wife Mariann Harlan of Georgetown, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; Jennifer and husband Eric Baruth of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Geoffrey Feddersen of Kearney, Nebraska; Michael Feddersen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kim Bellows of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mathew Bellows of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Rachel, Jason and Rebekah Feddersen all of Kearney, Nebraska; seven great-grandchildren; Jacob, Jordan, Kira, Kylie, Tiffany, Schuyler and Micah; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; Doris & Harold Harlan and Wilbert & Erma Feddersen; sister, Bonnie; and, grandmother, Edna Feddersen.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Lexington with Pastor Duane Russell officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the church following the service.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday morning prior to the funeral service at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Free Church.

Bud’s body will be cremated following the service with Inurnment to be held at a later date.
