Joan E. Stevens, 62, of Farnam, died Friday (December 28, 1990) at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Mar. 12, 1928, in Bertrand to Robert and Bernice Nutzman High. She graduated from Bertrand high School in 1945 and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1949. On May 31, 1949, she married Kenneth Lee Stevens at Lincoln.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, of Farnam; three daughters, Nancy (Mrs. John) Gumb of McCook, Elizabeth Stevens of Crete and Sara Stevens of Lincoln; two brothers, Robert of Kearney and James of Bertrand; a sister, Miriam (Mrs. Keith) Fastenau of Bertrand; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The body was cremated.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Farnam with the Rev. Charles Leypoldt officiating.

A memorial has been established.
