Roberta McLaughlin, 91, of Hastings, Nebraska, died February 9, 2015 at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, NE.

She was born February 8, 1924 in Moorefield, NE, daughter of James Robert and Maude Mae (Todd) McLaughlin.

Roberta grew up in Moorefield and graduated from Moorefield High School, after graduation she moved to North Platte and then later to Seattle, WA. She went to work for Boeing Aircraft plant during WWII. She then moved to Omaha and worked as a Supervisor in United Airlines flight kitchen for over 30 years. Following retirement she owned and operated a doughnut shop in Omaha. She then moved to Hastings where she enjoyed family visits, her flower garden, ceramics, and her two dachshund. She liked sports - softball, football volleyball and fishing.

She is survived by nieces and nephews: Mary Ellen (Rex) Stewart of Arkansas, Carol Warner of Colorado, Glen (Marlene) Hoppe of Doniphan, NE, Robert (Judy) Hosick of Curtis, NE, Illa Jo (Mervin) Zysset Farnam, NE, Darryl (Freda) Hosick of Stockville, NE, Les (Jan) Hosick of Wellfleet, NE, Jim Sweet of Hansen, NE, Sherryl Welton of Hastings, NE, and many extended family members.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents James Robert and Maude Mae McLaughlin, three sisters Lois Hoppe, Helen Hosick and Verna Sweet, nephews Gene Hoppe, Dennis Hosick and niece Lana Howes.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska; Friday, February 13, 2015, 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm.

Graveside Services will be held at Moorefield Cemetery, Friday, February 13, 2015 at 3:30 pm with Pastor Brian Nicklas officiating.

Burial will be in the Moorefield Cemetery, Moorefield, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the Moorefield Cemetery or Donors Choice.
