Ruth A. Junker

Ruth A. Junker, 66, of Gothenburg died March 2, 2002, at her home north east of Gothenburg.

She was born Feb. 6, 1936, at Eustis to Earl and Katie Hueftle Hess. She graduated from Farnam High School in 1954. On July 24, 1955, she married Alvin Junker at Farnam, and they had lived on the Junker family farm northeast of Gothenburg since their marriage.

Mrs. Junker was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Co-Burg Gals Extension Club.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karen (Mike) Oldfather of Cozad; two sons, Rodney and Keith (Deb), both of Gothenburg; seven grandchildren, Misty (Chris) Lees, Josh, Jay Cassy and Kolt Oldfather and Kristofer and Brandon Junker; three great-grandchildren, Cody, Monica and Austin Lees; two brothers, Gilbert (Margerie) Hess and Irvin (Ruth Ann) Hess, both of Farnam; her mother-in-law, Marie Junker of Gothenburg; a sister-in-law, Adelyn Hess of Orleans; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond (Carolyn) Junker of Iowa and Gerald Junker of Cozad.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clifford.

Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church, north of Gothenburg with the Rev Jeff Ruetten officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
