Doris L. Hueftle
Doris L. Hueftle, 82, of Scribner, Nebraska, formerly of Kearney, Nebraska, died March 25, 2004, at Fremont, Nebraska.
She was born October 30, 1921, in Farnam, Nebraska, to James and Cecil Hoppes.
She graduated from Farnam High School in 1940. On January 1, 1943, she married Paul Hueftle in Carmel, California. He died June 12, 1985. She and her husband moved to Kearney in 1949. She moved to Fremont in 1994. She lived in Fremont until moving to Scribner in 1999. While in Kearney, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Kaufman-Wernen, L&W Service Center, Ruter's Dress Shop and MarJuné Dress Shop until she retired in 1987.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kearney and in Fremont. She was a member of circles in each church.
She enjoyed making china dolls and other crafts.
Survivors include her daughters, Paulette Lutes of Scribner and Cheryl Cady of Casper, Wyoming; one sister, Bessie Frew of Gibbon, Nebraska, a former Eustis, Nebraska, resident; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a brother-in-law.
Services were held Monday, March 29, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the Horner-Lieske-Horner Morturary with the Rev. Stan Murdoch officiating.
Burial was in the Kearney Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, First Baptist Church in Kearney or First Baptist Church in Fremont.
