Frieda L. Houser
Frieda L. Houser, 98, of Eustis died Nov. 1, 1995, at the Elwood Care Center.
She was born Sept. 15, 1897, south of Eustis to Gottlieb and Pauline Mak Hueftle. She was raised on a farm south of Eustis. On Sept. 20, 1923, she married Jesse Houser at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They lived in the rural Eustis and Elwood area until 1958, when they moved to Eustis. She had lived at the Elwood Care Center since 1993.
Mrs. Houser was a member of the United Methodist Church for more than 75 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris (Albert) Farr of Cambridge and Lillian (Argil) Donner of Farnam; four sons, Homer of Stockville, Clifford of Cambridge, Rex (Carolyn) of Eustis and Ray (Nancy) of Indianola; a sister, Marie Luckett of Burwell; two brothers, August Hueftle of Elwood and Paul Hueftle of Reno, Nev.; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; a son, Robert; four sisters, Lena Reyher, Louise Hueftle, Clara Buehner and Anna Houser; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church or the Elwood Care Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Eustis with the Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the east Cemetery at Eustis.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the Berryman Funeral home in Eustis, which is in charge of arrangements.
