Sarah Rae Rookstool

Sarah Rae Rookstool, 17, of Eustis, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Cozad Community Health System, the result of a genetic disorder called Alstrom’s Syndrome, which also claimed the lives of her brother and sister, Jordan and Chelsea.

She was born July 31, 1996, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Theron and Wilda (Binegar) Rookstool.

Sarah attended grade school at District #15 through the 5th grade and then Eustis-Farnam school. She was a senior and would have graduated this May.

Sarah had a true love for life. Like any teenage girl she loved music, being with her family and friends, dancing, swimming, and was a wiz on the computer. She had a heart of gold and was so very proud of her nephews. She was excited about going to Nebraska City each year and competing in the Braille Challenge. She loved learning Braille and was learning to read in Braille.

Sarah is now with her brother and sister, her grandparents and uncles in Heaven. She was an Angel on earth and is now the brightest Angel in Heaven.

Survivors include her parents Theron and Wilda of Eustis, Nebraska; brothers, Justin Lynn and wife Amy Rookstool of North Platte, Nebraska, and Joshua Lewes and wife Alyssa Rookstool of Gothenburg, Nebraska; three special nephews, Cameron, Landry and Collin Rookstool; grandparents; Larry and Pat Rookstool of Casa Grande, Arizona; Creta Waltemath of Kearney, Nebraska; and, William Binegar of North Platte, Nebraska; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by her brother, Jordan and sister, Chelsea; grandpa, Tom Waltemath; grandma, Karren Binegar; two uncles, Larry Grubham and Tommy Waltemath.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating.

Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery at Farnam.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington.
