Obituary Collection
W. T. GREENLEE,
PIONEER SETTLER,
PASSES AWAY

W.T. Greenlee, who has been sick for the past three weeks at his home passed away early yesterday afternoon. Mr. Greenlee was about eighty years old.

Mr. Greenlee was a homesteader, in the section southwest of Farnam, coming here in the eighties. They moved from their farm to town and have made their home in Farnam ever since.

Mr. Greelee’s death comes as a decided loss to our community and the large circle of friends here extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones in their time of sorrow.

Funeral services will be held here Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm.

OBITUARY

W. T. Greenlee

William Tollbert Greenlee, son of Frank and Alpha Greenlee, was born in Green County, Tennessee in 1851. He lived there until four years of age, when he moved with his parents to Belle Plain, Iowa. He was married October 12, 1870 to Miss Effie Hasted of Muscatine, Iowa. To this union five children were born. Three daughters and two sons. The three daughters Cora, Mabel and Naomi are deceased. The two sons are Frank Greenlee of Farnam and Glen Greenlee of Sidney. Also, three brothers and two sisters. James and John of Belle Plain, Iowa; Jackson of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Mrs. Josephine Wright of Belle Plain, Iowa and Mrs. Mary Salone of Rusk, Texas. Six grandsons, Harry T. of Albion, Nebr.; Milo of Denver, Colorado; Francis of Farnam, Nebr.; Ray of Dix, Nebr.; and Marvel of Sidney, Nebr.; and Jack Burrell of Verbana, Iowa. Also, one great-granddaughter, Kay Marie Greenlee of Curtis, Nebraska.

Mr. Greenlee came with his family to Nebraska in 1887 and settled on a homestead near Moorefield. He going "The Church of God" while a resident near Moorefield in 1899 and was a firm believer in that faith.

He moved with his family to Farnam in 1903, where he resided to the time of his death.

He passed to his reward at his home in Farnam shortly after 1 o’clock Wednesday, April 29, 1931, at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 26 days. Mr. Greenlee was a devoted husband and father. He had many friends and will be greatly missed. The community join in extending their sympathy to the family.
