Joanne Jurjens
Joanne Jurjens, 72, died November 17, 2021, at her home south of Farnam surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 9, 1949, in Des Moines, IA, to Roger and Vesta (Bucklew) Thalacker. Joanne graduated from High School in 1968 and moved to Denver where she attended Parks School of Business, graduating with a medical secretary degree. She married Larry Joe Jurjens on November 29, 1969, at the North Platte Baptist Church, in North Platte, NE. To this union, a son and a daughter were born, David and Lisa.
Joanne was blessed to be able to stay home with the kids as they grew up. While doing so, she had dog kennels and raised dogs for several years. As the kids got older, Joanne went to work at the Farnam Post Office in the mid 90's until 1998. After leaving the Post Office, she went to work for Central Plains Home Health and Hospice in Cozad, where she worked until her retirement in 2015.
Joanne catered for many years and loved trying new recipes on Larry. She enjoyed singing and felt called to minister through music. Joanne loved flowers and spent many happy hours working in her flower bed. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of The Crossing Fellowship and her faith was very important to her.
