Dency Blanche Wagers Whitman
Dency Blanche Wagers, daughter of William and Luella Wagers, was born on July 26, 1891, at Shickley, Nebraska; and passed away at the Community Hospital in Cozad, Thursday, December 1, 1955; at the age of 64 years, 4 months, and 6 days.
She was united in marriage to Leroy H. Whitman, September 15, 1909, at Mason City, Nebraska. To this union were born two daughters.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Whitman lived in Mason City for two years. They then resided in Primrose for about thirty years. For the past fifteen years they have lived in Farnam. Since their marriage they have operated the Primrose Press and the Farnam Press.
Mrs. Whitman was baptized in the Methodist Church in her infancy and has been a member of the Methodist Church all her adult life. She was a member in good standing of the Farnam Methodist Church at the time of her death. She was a member of the Easter Star, Rose Chapter No. 102 of Albion and of the Rebekah Lodge, No. 175, Farnam.
She is survived by her husband, two daugthers, Irene, Mrs. Donald H. Bopp of Spaulding, and Helen, Mrs. William B. Macek of Ravenna, two granddaughters, Eleanor, Mrs. Garrett Kasselder of Spaulding, and Miss Nancy Kay Macek of Ravenna, one grandson, A. M. 2c Ronald M. Bopp, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. Two sisters, Mrs. Henry J. Williams, Omaha, and Mrs. Velma Latin, Los Angeles, California, three brothers, Bert Wagers of Indio, California, W. E. Wagers of Casper, Wyoming, and W. M. Wagers of Redding, California.
Mrs. Whitman was a good neighbor, a fine Christian, and a person loved by all who knew her. She leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were on Sunday, December 4, 1955, in the Farnam, Methodist Church, Rev. B. H. Hart officiated. Interment in the Farnam Cemetery, Farnam, Nebraska. Olesen Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Hugo Blomquist and Robert Zeeh sang beautiful appropriate songs during the service and were accompanied by Mrs. Earl Edson at the piano. Rebekah Ladies assisted at the graveside service.
Pallbearers were John Rowland, Hugo Blomquist, Burr Parker, Dale Montgomery, Ernie Lewis and Jack Martin.
