Death of Mrs. Charles Walker
Mrs. Charles Walker, who for the past three years made her home with her daughter, Mrs. E. O. Kyner, died last Friday morning at the advanced age of 80 years and 10 days.
She was born in Lancaster county, Pa., and grew to womanhood there. SHe was graduated from high school at Christanna, Pa., and later from the Presbyterian college in Dayton, Ohio. After graduating she taught school for a number of years, and in 1873 was united in marriage. In 1892 they came to Nebraska, settling near Farnam.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Alice B. Smith of Chugwater, Wyo.; Mrs. May Hughes of Falls City; Mrs. Edna Kyner of Eustis; Emmett B. Walker of Canon City, Colo.; and Wm. F. Walker of Lankershin, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Eustis in charge of Rev. Mr. H. M. Jones, paster of the Evangelical church. Burial was made in the cemetery at Farnam.
Mrs. Smith, E. B. Walker and Mrs. Kyner were the only children at the funeral. The others were unable to get here owing to the long distances to be traveled, or were unavoidably detained.
