Mary Ellen Litzenburg was born in Green county, Penn., March 16, 1844. She was married to B. F. Stilley on December 31, 1867. They came to Nebraska in the spring of 1869, settling on a homestead in Fillmore county.

They came to Farnam in 1890 and have resided here since. Her death occurred Saturday, June 1st, 1912. She is survived by her eldest sister, Mrs. Lydia Hall of Sparks, Kansas, her son H. N. Stilley and daughter, Mrs. Nora Brown of this place were in attendance at the funeral.
