Jordan 'Jordie' Rookstool

LEXINGTON - Jordan "Jordie" Rookstool, 13, of Lexington died May 9, 2003, at Children's Hospital in Omaha after a courageous battle with Alstrom Syndrome.

He was born Jan. 16, 1990, in North Platte to Theron and Wilda Binegar Rookstool. He was a sixth grader at District 15 school in rural Lexington.

He was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease, Alstrom Syndrome at the age of 6. Even though he had a rare disease he never complained and always watched out for the "little guy." On April 8, he got the opportunity to meet his idol "The Undertaker" a wrestler for the World Wrestling Entertainment in Chicago.

He enjoyed watching wrestling and supporting his brothers in all their sporting events. He also enjoyed going to school, camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

He and his family are members of the Society for Alstrom Syndrome Families. He was his Mom and Dad's hero.

Survivors include his parents of Lexington; two sisters, Chelsea Lilah and Sarah Rae Rookstool, both of Lexington; two brothers, Justin Lynn and Joshua Lewes Rookstool, both of Lexington; his grandparents, Larry and Pat Rookstool of Hershey, Tom and Creta Waltemath of Johnson Lake, Karren Binegar and William Binegar, both of North Platte; his great-grandfather, Wesley Rookstool of North Platte; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Rookstool Family.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with the Rev. Michael Gruhn officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in the Farnam Cemetery in Farnum. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
