Obituary Collection
Andrew J. Miller

Andrew J. Miller was born August 7, 1841, in Carroll county, Ohio, and in early boyhood moved with his widowed mother to Owen county, Indiana. On December 31, 1863, he was married to Elizabeth A. Beaman. To this union six children were born, of which five still survive and with their mother mourn the loss of a kind husband and loving father, who departed April 6, 1913, aged seventy-one years, seven months and thirty days. The children who were all present at the funeral are: Harvey E. Miller of Fairmont, John H. Miller of Hunt, Cora E. Hiddleson of Cairo, Eliza E. Knisely of Farnam and Maggie J. Winchell of Bawsler, Wyoming.

There also survives seventeen grandchildren and great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Yont of Miller, Missouri, and Mrs. Kate Martin of Vandalia, Indiana.

Mr. Miller and wife came west to Green county, Iowa, in 1864, where they remained until 1893, when they settled in Frontier county, Nebraska, living on the farm until 1909, when they moved to Farnam, where the home still remains, surrounded with many friends who extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved.

The funeral was held at the M. E. church in charge of the paster, Rev. A. R. Anderson, and the remains laid to rest in Farnam cemetery.
