Early in life she was united with the Baptist church at Farnam. Later she transferred to the Congregational church at Farnam, where she was an active member and served as Sunday school secretary for five years. After the church disbanded, she transferred to the Methodist church at Farnam. She was Superintendent of Cradle Roll in Sunday school at the time of her death.

She lived on a farm northwest of Farnam until 1909, when she moved to Farnam with her parents. She attended Farnam high school for four years.

She was united in marriage to Harvey R. McNickle on October 10, 1916. Her parents preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Harvey R. McNickle; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Lindvall of Farnam and Mrs. Ethel Thomsen of Sutherland; and four sons: Verne, Glen and Dale of Farnam, and Rex of Lancaster, Penna.; one sister, Mrs. Effie Andrews of Dayton, Oregon; 12 grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor, and a kind and sincere friend.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the home at two o'clock and from the Farnam Methodist church at 2:30, with Rev. C. R. Tanner of Elwood in charge of the services. A quartette, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hess, Mrs. C. E. Pollard and Dale Montgomery sang three selections, "Rock of Ages," "Abide with Me" and "Beautiful Isle." They were accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Smith. Pallbearers were: Herman Thomsen, Bern Lindvall, Morris Wycoff, Cliff Reynolds, Fred Rowland and Arch Jorgensen. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery. The Oleson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
