Obituary Collection
Mrs. C. C. McElmoil

The community was shocked by the unexpected death of Mrs. C. C. McElmoil in Rochester, Minn., where she had gone for treatment. The heartfelt sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved ones.

Mable Irene Decker was born July 23, 1880 in Knox county, Ill., early moving to this state with her parents in 1886. They settled in Callaway, Nebr., where she lived until after her marriage on October 30, 1907 to Clyde C. McElmoil, who at that time was also of Callaway. They moved in March of 1908 to Farnam where they have lived until seh was taken a few weeks ago to Rochester, Minn., for treatment. It developed that in internal goiter had for years been sapping her strength and when pneumonia set in her vitality was too low to resist the strain. She died Saturday, July 2, 1921 in Rochester. Her husband and Mrs. Ralston were with her to the last.

Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. McElmoil, one of whom, a girl, died at birth. The other, Gordon Decker McElmoil was born December 25, 1912. Besides her husband and son Gordon, Mrs. McElmoil leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, Mrs. Decker and two sisters, Mrs. Marriott and Mrs. Young, all of Callaway. Mrs. Young was unable to come to the funeral.

Funeral services were held at the house Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 1921, conducted by Rev. J. Walter Field. The Kensington of which she was a member attended in a body. Internment was in the Farnam cemetery.
