Grover Cleveland Jones
After a lingering illness of several months, Grover Cleveland Jones quietly passed away at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, May 8,
at his home near Farnam, Nebr.
The deceased was born Oct. 17, 1885 in Frontier Co. and departed this life at the age of 42 years, 6 months, and 21 days. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Mrs. G.C. Jones and one daughter, Wanda; 4 sisters and 2 brothers., Mrs. Fannie Hampson and Wm. Jones of Tilden; Mrs. Eva Damitz, Mrs. Ida Mackie and E.T. Jones of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Mrs. Helen Westlinder of Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services were conductd by Rev. J.D. Williams at the Community hall last Thursday afternoon and interment was made in the Farnam cemetery. The services were to have been held in the M. E. church but due to the exceptionally large crowd, it was necessary to use the hall. Many beautiful bouquets and wreaths banked the front of the bulding.
Why do we mourn departing friends,
Or shake at death’s alarms?
“Tis but the voice Jesus sends,
To call them to his arms.”
