Death of Emory Golay, A Shock to Community

Emory Golay was well and favorably known in the Farnam community, and it was a great shock to learn of his passing. He died at Bakersfield, Calif., after an operation and a lingering illness. The body was sent to Farnam for burial, and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, June 11, 1940, at the Farnam Episcopal church.

Mrs. Francis McNickle of Elm Creek, his only daughter, and a small son, Jack, who is at North Platte, Neb., survive and mourn his death. Rev. R. A. Johnson, rector of St. Matthews Episcopal church in Farnam, was in charge of the funeral service. Obituary will be next week.
