Obituary Collection
Waunetta (Donner) Crisman

Waunetta Vonnie Crisman, 94, of Gothenburg, passed away Oct. 13, 2017, at Gothenburg Health with family by her side.

She was born on March 22, 1923, to Walter and Emma Donner in Farnam. She grew up on a farmstead and attended school.

She married Gerald Crisman and they made their home in Gothenburg. They had two sons, Ronald and Kenneth.

Waunetta loved to travel, seeing 45 of the lower 48 states and taking many bus trips with her friend and travel companion, Mary Millsap. She enjoyed gardening, and her flower gardens were beautiful, her embroidery work was impeccable and all the family enjoyed the many gifts received from her talent. Her most appreciated gift for the family was her cooking and baking, as she was a master of both, and her pumpkin pies and cinnamon rolls were the best.

She was a warm and loving person who was quick to share a smile, visit and helping hand. She opened her heart to family, also embracing those who had a need for family, and she was like a mom and grams to them. She was loved by so many and will be missed deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; son, Ronald; grandson, Jory Crisman; brothers, Cletus, Ray and Argil; and sister, Mae.

Waunetta is survived by her son, Kenneth (Kim) Crisman of Gothenburg; daughter-in-law, Linda Crisman of Gothenburg; grandsons, Rex (Stella) Crisman of Gothenburg, Jeff Crisman of Dallas, Texas, and Josh Crisman (Ladonna) of North Platte; granddaughters, Tammy (Jeff) Bonifas of Gothenburg and Sherri (John VonSeggern) Bice of Blair; four great-grandsons, Casey (Tiffany) Newbrey of Gothenburg, Adam (Lindsay) Newbrey of Broken Bow, Cole Crisman of Lincoln and Tanner Bice of Lincoln; three great-granddaughters, Devyn Crisman of Kearney, Reagyn Crisman of North Platte and Leslie Potter of North Platte; many great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Lilly Donner of Farnam; and a special niece, Virginia Smith of Grand Island.

Memorials are suggested to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Viter officiating. Burial will follow at the Farnam Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m., today, Oct. 17, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, which is in charge of arrangements.
