Mrs. J. J. Allen Buried Here Tuesday
Burial of Mrs. J. J. Allen of North Platte was made in the Farnam cemetery Tuesday afternoon. The remains being brought here, following funeral services held at North Platte.
Mrs. Allen, with her husband located on a farm northwest of Farnam in 1895, where they lived until 1928, when they moved to North Platte. Mr. Allen was buried here about a year ago.
Helen Avery was born April 11, 1862 at Omaha, Nebr., where she grew to womanhood.
In 1882 she was married to John J. Allen. To this union four children were born, three of whom have preceded her in death.
In the spring of 1895 they moved to a farm near Farnam where they resided for 32 years.
In 1928 they moved to North Platte where she lived until the time of her death.
She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of North Platte and was a faithful attendant at all its services.
Mr. Allen passed away about a year ago.
On March 19th she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she never rallied, passing away on Easter morning at 3:35.
She leaves to mourn 1 son, Howard of North Platte, 1 foster son, Lester, 1 sister Mrs. Hattie Turner of Omaha, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.
