Obituary Collection
Mrs. John Allen
Dies Suddenly

Cleo Madelene Beerman was born September 17, 1899 and departed from the scenes of this mortal life November 9 at 7:20 p.m. at the age of 36 years, one month and 23 days.

She was united in marriage to John Allen on September 17, 1914 at North Platte, Nebraska, and to this union one daughter was born. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, and daughter, Gloe Ruth, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. August Beerman of Eustis, one brother, Floyd Beerman of Farnam, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Griffith of Berryville, Arkansas, one grand-daughter, Marlene June Johnson, and many distant relatives and a host of friends who learned to love her and who will miss her as they continue their earthly pilgrimage.

Mrs. Allen confessed Jesus Christ as her redeemer and united with the Baptist church at North Platte, Nebraska in 1917, and tried to live true to the ideals of her Lord and Master.

To those who are left behind her untimely death seems as a tragedy, and we cannot understand why she should have to go so early in life. How grateful we are, however, in this hour that our faith can look up and believe that there is one who cares for us who doeth all things well and we are thankful that we can believe that the soul of this age has taken its flight to immortal realms where we shall meet again in the land of endless day.

It singeth low in every heart,
   We hear it each and all;
A song of those who answer not,
   However we may call.
They throng the silence of the breast,
   We see them as of yore,
The kind, the true, the brave, the sweet,
   Who walk with us no more.

More homelike seems the vast unknown
   Since they have entered there;
To follow them were not so hard,
   Wherever they may fare.
They cannot be where God is not,
   Or any sea or shore;
What-e'er betides, Thy love abides,
   Our God, forever more.

Funeral services were held in the Farnam Methodist church, with Rev. S. McKeown in charge, assisted by Rev. E. H. Unvert of Eustis. Music was furnished by Otto Hueftle, Edwin Hueftle, Mrs. John Hueftle and Miss Esther Grabenstein.
