This church like all others had to ask for a grant, we asked for a grant and borrowed $200.00 from the Bank. We finally got the $200.00 paid off. In order to pay off the balance it was necessary to raise the money by subscription. That wound up the building indebtedness.
I have here another list of subscriptions.

I found in the old records a bill dated August 22, 1899 for an organ purchased July 28 for the sum of $50.00 from Geo. W. Erb and was billed to Miss Bernice Phillips. This was paid in full on August 22, 1899.
I also found a statement of account dated March 16, 1903 to C. O. Sheffield, evidently he was out janitor at that time, this is the exact way the record has it: 3 weeks janitor work and 1 bottle of alcohol. I thought it was good scandal, but I was reminded at home that we had gasoline lamps an it was required alcohol to generate the lamps.
We have here a note given to our first minister, he left here evidently broke, us owing him $28.00. The note was made out but never delivered to him. After five years they decided to pay this man and evidently this man, Wilsey looked all over for the note for he made a statement that he lost the note, but the facts are the note was never delivered at all.
I also have here the first Fire Insurance Policy, which is thirty-six years old.
Also a notation, "We are not sure just when the Aid Society was started but when the Aid Society was started but from the older members we learn that Mrs. C. Bradshaw was the first President and Mrs. Rolph, Secretary.
