Hold Husking Bee

Some good old western spirit was displayed Friday when ten of the neighbors of Lynn Messersmith gathered at his farm home south of town and proceeded to husk his corn for him, leaving only seven acres in the field when night came.

The Messersmith family are moving to another farm the first of next month and as he was just recently released from the hospital, it would have been impossible for him to do the husking himself in that time.

The wives of the huskers, not to be outdone in chivalry by their spouses, took a part of the provisions and helped with the dinner.
