Charles Guy Clark

Charles Guy Clark was born at Clarinda, Iowa, February 13, 1859. Died February 17, 1935, age 76 years and four days.

August 18, 1892, Mr. Clark was united in marriage to Miss Ada R. Lawrence of Moorefield, Nebr. To this union were born six children. The eldest son died in infancy. Roy, a soldier in the World War, died in France, November 28, 1918. The surviving children are: Bruce and Walter of North Platte, Nebr., Lawrence and Mrs. Burton Fisher of Moorefield.

His wife, four children, five grand children, two brothers, two sisters, and a host of friends are left to mourn the loss of an industrious and up-right citizen, a kind and obliging neighbor, a most devoted husband and father, who was ever mindful of the welfare of his family, and a supporter of community interests.

Funeral services were held at the Moorefield Union church on February 19, 1935. Rev. A. B. Stanberry officiating. Burial was made in the Moorefield cemetery.

  Sunset and evening star.
  One clear call for me,
May there be no mourning of the bar
Whe I put out to sea.

But such a tide as moving, seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep,
  Turns again home.

  Twilight and evening fell,
  After that the dark,
May there be no sadness of farewell,
  When I embark.

For tho from out of time and place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot, face to face,
When I have crossed the bar.
