Jim Thrasher

Jim Thrasher formerly of Eustis who has been quite sick at North Platte for several weeks, died at that place Thursday night. Funeral services were held at North Platte Monday and burial was at Eustis. His brother, Al Thrasher, and wife, attended the services.

RITES FOR J. S. THRASHER

Rites were held Monday at North Platte for James S. Thrasher who died there last Friday. Officiating was the Rev. C. G. Ellis of Eustis who used as his sermon text Job 30:23. Mrs. C. G. Ellis sang “The Lord Is My Shepherd” and “Sometime We’ll Understand.”

The remains were to Eustis for interment in Eustis West Cemetery with members of Eustis I. O. O. F. Lodge in charge of the committal service.

Obituary

James Solomon, son of John and Susan Thrasher, was born December 20, 1870 in Stamford, Indiana and passed away in a North Platte hospital on August 25, 1944, at the age of 73 years, eight months and five days.

He moved to Nebraska with his parents in early childhood. In 1892 he was united in marriage to Ruth Bronson. To this union five children were born, one daughter preceding him in death in infancy.

He moved to Eustis in 1911 where he made his home until four months ago when he went to North Platte for medical care. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. Lodge No. 273 of Eustis.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Thrasher of Eustis; four daughters Mrs. Mary Hueftle and Mrs. Edith Zwink of Eustis; Mrs. Verble Schilpp of Kearney and Mrs. Edna Vierson of North Platte. one son, Lt. Floyd L. Thrasher of Dover, Delaware; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. A. C. Troutman and Mrs. Mary E. Wilson of Palisade and one brother, A. B. Thrasher of Farnam.
