Ellen Cavanaugh Oller, 68, of Gothenburg, NE, died March 19, 2011 at her residence in Gothenburg.

She was born May 15, 1942 in Mineola, NY, daughter of John and Helen (Burns) Chester.

Ellen grew up in New York City and Yonkers, NY. She lived all over the United States including New York, Texas, Arizona and Nebraska. She worked as a Chef. Ellen married Charles Oller at Houston, Texas on December 15, 1977. She was a member of many organizations, but the one she was most active in was AA. She was a sponsor to many individuals and spoke at prisons and other functions. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She never missed the chance to sing Happy Birthday to all of her family and friends. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Lauren Pyles, TJ Staples, Johnny (Nikki) Nicholson jr., Brittany Staples, Rhondea Williams, Shelby Montgomery and Amanda (Boatie) Diltz; and her great-grandchildren: Tommy, Daisy, Gage and Boston Nicholson; Gavin and Lyric Pyles; Felicity and Mary Jane Williams; Landon, Samantha and Gabriel Diltz.

She is survived by her daughters, Laura Nicholson(Grant Berens) of NE; Rhonda Staples of Allen, TX; Gaylene (Mark) Wilcox-Smith of Moorefield, NE, sister, Ann Vize, brothers Edward Chester and Bryan Chester, five grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents John and Helen Chester, husband, Charles Oller, brothers, Alan Chester and John Chester, granddaughter, Brittany Staples, and great-grandson, Gabriel Diltz.

Burial Wednesday March 23, 2011 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
