Robert S. Armitage

Robert S. Armitage was born January 6, 1870 in Neosha, Wisconsin to Eleonor and Reverend Joseph Armitage, a minister of the Christian Church. He moved by covered wagon to Kansas when he was 13 years of age He later came to Harrison, Arkansas where he married Lola Murphy on November 2, 1891. To this union was born eight children, five boys and three girls. His wife passed away in 1932. Mr. Armitage followed the carpenter trade most of his life. He moved to Idaho in 1933 and located near Glenns Ferry. He came to Nampa two years ago, where he resided until his passing April 30, 1960.

Survivors include three sons, Joe of Greeley, Colorado, Paul of Aurora, Colorado, and Stewart Armitage of Orofino, Idaho; three daughters, Mrs. Lena Youree of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Mrs. Frankie Workman of Eustis, Nebraska and Mrs. Mildred Miller who resides in California and one sister-in-law, Edith Tate of Portland, Oregon; 37 grandchildren and 85 great-grandchildren.
