Lulla (Dodds) Rine

Lulla Rine, 93, former resident of Brady, Nebraska, died Monday, February 13th, at Cozad. She was born June 6, 1895, at Blair, Nebraska to George and Cordelia (Johnson) Dodds and grew up at Belgrade. She married Murray Rine on February 12, 1919. She taught school in the rural Belgrade area for several years.

In 1926, the couple moved to a homestead in Montana, returning to Nebraska in 1936 and a farm east of Farnam. In 1948 they moved to a farm site south of Brady. She had made her home in Cozad since August 1979.

Mrs. Rine was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had been very active in church work throughout her lifetime.

Survivors include a son, Gerald of Selma, California; three daughters, Mildred Jensen of Cozad, Jean Fales of Violet Hill, Arkansas, and Grace Slack of Portage, Indiana; a brother, Tom Dodds of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters, Maude Trotter O Indianapolis, Indiana, Hazel Bennett of Tabor, Iowa, and Vera Wolcott of Grand Island; eighteen grandchildren; and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979.

Services were held Thursday at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Eschliman officiating. Burial was in the Gothenburg Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the church.

The Berryman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
