Obituary Collection
George Carl Ruthstrom

George Carl Ruthstrom, eldest son of Hanna and Charley Ruthstrom was born on a farm near Boelus, Nebraska August 12, 1890. In September of the same year he was baptised in the Lutheran Faith.

At the age of twenty-two Mr. Ruthstrom left his home, moving to Farnam, Nebr., where he was engaged in farming until 1925, when he moved to Wheeler, Wis., where he also farmed.

In 1929 he was united in marriage to Clara Lawresah of Albertsville, Wisconsin. To this union one daughter, Lorraine, was born. Mr. Ruthstrom first became ill August 8. Later he suffered a severe paralytic stroke, which affected his left side, causing him the loss of speech. After the stroke he was taken to a hospital, where everything medical science could do was put into play. Altho in a serious condition he was conscious and in his right mind to the last. When his brothers went to see him he tried so hard to talk. He had not seen them for eight years, but the only word that could be distinguished was "mother." The brothers thinking him improved, bid good-bye and departed for their homes on Monday. The following Friday he passed away, at the age of 43 years and 19 days.

The deceased leaves to mourn his passing his wife and little daughter, his father and mother, seven sisters and four brothers. Namely Mrs. Fred Lemburg and Mrs. George Clausen of Boelus, Mrs. M. Enevoldsen of Farnam, Mrs. E. B. Newby of South Bend, Ind., Mrs. C. Britt of Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. George Stoeger of LaGrange, Wyo., and Florence Ruthstrom at home. Albert, Alvin and August Ruthstrom of Boelus and Edwin of Seabrook, Texas and a number of other relatives and friends.

George was well known in this community and liked by all who knew him. Thru his kind consideration for others he won friendship and respect wherever he made his home.

He was laid to rest near his home at New Auburn, Wisconsin.

The many friends of the Ruthstrom family join in extending sympathy to them in their sorrow.
