Eva F. Sypolt Reynolds

Eva F. Sypolt Reynolds, 91, of Gothenburg died June 15, 1999, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Long Term.

She was born Nov. 10, 1907, at Turkey Creek to William E. and Ada Mae Lewis Frazell. She graduated from Smithfield High School. She attended Kearney State College and Nebraska Wesleyan College.

On July 3, 1929, she married Carroll Doyle Sypolt in Kansas. They lived in the Smithfield community until 1949, when they moved to Farnam. He preceded her in death in 1952.

She worked at Montgomery’s store and later at Clements store. She and Vi Kotschwar also ran the Corner Cafe in Farnam.

In 1954, she married Cliff Reynolds. He preceded her in death in 1968.

Mrs. Reynolds enjoyed fishing and playing cards with her pals. She was a Cubs and Huskers fan. She made great cinnamon rolls. Her memberships included the Rebekah Lodge and the Farnam United Methodist Church.

Surviving her are two daughters, Donna J. (Darel) McCombie of Sun City, Ariz., and Beverly Edson of Farnam; two sisters, Mabel Lervig of Elwood and Alice Marie (Owen) Vinzant of Fallbrook, Calif.; five grandchildren, Steven Lee McCombie of Phoenix, Randy (Brenda) Edson of Farnam, Richard “Dutch” (Kristie) Edson of Gothenburg, Dawna (Charles) Rosebold of Kingwood, Texas, and Kim (Keith) Heiser of Lincoln; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Odessa; and four brothers, Merle, Harold, Clive and Donald.

Memorials may be made to the Farnam Rescue Unit or the United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Farnam, with burial in the Elwood Cemetery.
