Eva Lena Spencer Goodrich

Services for Eva Lena Spencer Goodrich, 100, Paola, will be at 3 p.m. today at Wilson & Son Funeral Home Paola Chapel. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Goodrich died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Vintage Park in Paola.

She was born Aug. 12, 1904, in Curtis, Neb., the daughter of Lavern E. and Stella M. Snodgrass Spencer. She graduated from Farnam High School in Farnam, Neb., in 1922. She also lived in Lawrence, Grand Island, Neb., Gothenburg, Neb., Atchison, Roeland Park, Overland Park and Paola.

Mrs. Goodrich was a homemaker. She and her husband owned and operated a grocery store in Gothenberg until 1942. She was a charter member of South Minister Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village and an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Paola. She was involved in the Presbyterian Women’s Group at both churches.

She married Lysle E. Goodrich on Nov. 27, 1923, in Grand Island. He died in 1981.

Survivors include a son, Robert C. Case, South Bend, Ind.; a daughter, Phyllis A. Case, Paola; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Paola, sent in care of the funeral home, 305 North Pearl St., Paola 66071.
