The Farnam Echo, 18 Jan 1934.

The funeral of Mr. Jens Ebert of Farnam, Nebr., was held from the home Sunday and from the United Prebyterian church in Minden, Monday, the Rev. G. E. Truesdell of Kearney conducting the services. The six sons were the pall-bearers.

Jens Jorgen Ebert was born in Denmark, March 7, 1866 and died at Farnam, Nebraska January 12, 1934, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 5 days.

He came to America in 1887, settling at Minden, Nebraska, where he resided for many years. He has lived at Farnam the past three years.

On December 15, 1891 he was united in marriage with Miss Lisa Estergard. To this union fourteen children were born, two having preceded him in death. Those surviving to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, six sons, Peter of Marquette, Nebr.; Willie of McCook, Nebr.; Arnold of McDonald, Kansas; Fred, Earl and Melvin of Farnam, Nebr.; six daughters, Lillie Jensen, and Mrs. Emma Beck of Minden, Nebr.; Mrs. Stella Warner of Lebanon, Nebr.; Mrs. Martha Christensen of Atwood, Kansas; Mrs. Leona Smith of Goodland, Kansas and Mrs. Alta Threlkel of Farnam, Nebr. He also leaves a brother, Fred Ebert of Minden, Nebr.; twenty three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

At the age of seventeen he gave his heart to Christ and for fifty years he lived a Christian life, always striving to be a true follower of the Lord. At times he, like Peter, followed afar off, but he never let his trust in God be broken.
