Anton "Tony" Kotschwar

Anton ‘Tony’ Kotschwar, 88, of Moorefield, Nebraska, died November 19, 2016 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born July 15, 1928 at home on the family farm in rural Stockville, NE, son of William George and Viola Gail (White) Kotschwar.

Tony grew up in the Farnam area and graduated from Farnam High with the class of 1946. He married Audrey Maxine Cross in 1947. They had three sons - Dan, Gary and Rick. He enjoyed watching his sons play football and basketball. Tony loved the land, horses and raising Hereford cattle. He was a member the Farnam United Methodist Church. His interests included dancing and playing cards.

Surviving are three sons, Dan (Cheryl) Kotschwar of Farnam, NE, Gary (Jody) Kotschwar of Moorefield, NE, Rick (Gwen) Kotschwar of Farnam, NE; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Cross of Prinville, OR, Mable Conklin of Sterling, IL, Alice Fickenscher of Surprise, AR, Jean (Ivan) Henderson of Lexington, NE; brother, Glen (Vicki) Kotschwar of Chadron, NE; sister-in-law, Muriel Kotschwar; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by Audrey Kotschwar, his parents; brothers, Clyde, Leon, Stanley and Robert Kotschwar; sisters, Viola Iburg, Gladys Thrasher and Maxine Kotschwar; brothers-in-law Don Conklin, JR Thrasher, and Roland Cross.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, November 22, 2016, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00.

Funeral services will be held at Farnam United Methodist Church, 303 Caribou Street, Farnam, NE, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating.

Interment will follow in the Farnam Cemetery, Farnam, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the Farnam Senior Center or the Farnam Methodist Church.
