Merle Clayton Widick

Merle Clayton Widick, the oldest son of Grover and Rose Widick was born April 22, 1910, at Smithfield, Nebraska. In 1923, the family moved to Farnam.

On June 30, 1932, Merle was married to Hazel Goesch.

In 1936 they moved to Pinedale, Wyoming, where they lived until 1963. At the time of his death he was living in Sheridan, Wyoming, where he was employed by the State Board of Equalization.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Hazel, two sons, Dennis of Bonneville, Utah, Donald of Rawlins, Wyoming, a daughter, Carolyn Rolston of Lander, Wyoming, his father, Grover Widick, three brothers, Maurice, Ellis and Orvale, a sister, Elaine Williams, all of Farnam, eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

His devotion to his family and his friendliness and gaiety leave many pleasant memories for his family and friends.

Services were held at the Methodist Church in Farnam on May 5th with Rev. G. J. Herring officiating. Music was by Mrs. Audrey Kotschwar and Mrs. Deloras Nickerson with Mrs. Evelyn Davis, accompanist. Pallbearers were Ralph, Frank, Dan, Bruce and Reynolds Widick and Ronald Williams.

Interment was in Farnam Cemetery with Masonic Rites at Graveside by Gothenburg Lodge No. 249 AF & AM.
