O. C. McCarthy [sic.] of Horrell precinct Frontier county, died last Friday morning of an aggravated form of pneumonia, after nearly three weeks illness. Mr. McCarthy was past middle life, and a man who was universally respected where known. The remains was interred in the Farnam Cemetery.

We are not familiar with the particulars, but believe he was born in Ireland; came to America in the early 50s, served in the Union army during the civil war, as teamster.

He leaves a wife and one step child to mourn his death. The family has the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.
