SERVICES FRIDAY FOR ADOLPH GEWECKE, 91

Adolph Gewecke, a long time resident of the Farnam community, passed away Tuesday, June 20, in the Slack Care Home in Gothenburg. He had made his home there for the past year after spending some time in the home of his daughter in Arthur, Nebraska, after leaving Farnam four years ago.

Adolph was 91 years of age on his birthday June 3. He had been in relatively good health until recent months when he suffered with heart trouble.

Mr. Gewecke farmed for many years north west of Farnam, and later was Street Commissioner for the Village of Farnam for many years until retirement.

He was always a pleasant neighbor and friend.

He is survived by his four children, Edgar, of Gothenburg, Kenneth; Mrs. Oliver Brown of Arthur and Faye of Farnam.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of the Nazarene in Farnam. McVay-Olesen Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Adolph Henry Gewecke

Adolph Henry Gewecke passed away at Gothenburg, Nebraska on Tuesday, June 20, 1961. Mr. Gewecke was 91 years and 17 days old at the time of his passing.

He was born June 3, 1870 at Crown Point, Indiana, the eldest of nine children. His parents were Henry and Alice Gewecke. In childhood he moved with his parents to Ohiowa, Nebraska, where he grew to young manhood and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church.

On April 6, 1899, he was united in marriage to Anna Louise Warnke and to this union was born two sons and two daughters. They farmed in Lincoln county for 17 years and lived in Farnam for about 36 years, where he was employed by the city of Farnam until a few years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Edgar of Gothenburg, Kenneth of Grant; two daughters, Fay Gewecke of Farnam and Rev. Verneeda Brown of Arthur; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Fred of Ohiowa, Nebr., and Joe of Fairmont, Nebr.; one sister, Mrs. Annie Rippie of Ohiowa; several neices and nephews and a host of friends.

His wife, parents, one brother, Harry, and four sisters, Minnie, Ella, Lizzie, and Clara preceded him in death.

He will be remembered as a thoughtful person of others, a lover of music and a kind father.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 23, at 2:00 pm in the Church of the Nazarene in Farnam. Rev. Albert Lundy officiated.

David Banks and Mrs. Charles Davis sang, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Smith. Pallbearers were Walter Smallfoot, Lee Hudson, Dale Montgomery, S.C. Wilcox, Charles Pollard and Weaver Cole. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

McVay-Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
