Kenneth William Earhart

Kenneth William Earhart, son of Ralph and Ruth Earhart, was born near Ohiowa, Nebraska, on December 30, 1913 and departed from this life on December 18, 1978, at the Veteran's Hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska, at the age of 64 years, 11 months, and 18 days.

Ken grew to manhood in the Farnam community. He attended the Farnam School.

On March 4, 1941, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. Later he was sent to Europe with the 49th Armored Infantry Regiment. He was released with an honorable discharge on October 10, 1945. He made every effort to attend the reunion of the 14th Armored Division. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Ken assisted his father in the trucking business and in his lifetime also was engaged in farming, livestock and the grain business. Most recently he was involved in commercial trucking. He sold out last February because if his poor health.

Ken developed many lasting friendships because of his straight forward style of compassion and his appreciation of the good in people. He especially offered much strength and consideration with his presence to his nieces and nephews.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Ruth Earhart of Farnam, his two sisters, Mrs. Ceora Brock of Gothenburg, Mrs. Mildred Brouillette of Farnam, one brother, Keith Earhart of Fresno, California, one brother-in-law, two nieces and two nephews, other relative and friends.

There's an open gate
At the end of the road,
Through which each must go alone.
And there in a light we cannot see
Our Father claims His own.
Beyond the gate our loved one
Will find happiness and rest
And there is comfort in the thought
That a loving God knows best.
