Edith (DeLate) Bray

DEATH´S RUTHLESS HARVEST

We have just learned of the death of Mrs. Edith Bray at her home in Horrell precinct, sometime Thursday night. Mrs. Bray was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John DeLate. She was an exceedingly bright and tractable young woman and a universal favorite with all who knew her. Her sad and untimely death is greatly deplored here, and her husband, parents, brothers, and sisters have the sympathy of all.

The remains was interred in the Farnam cemetery, Friday, after a short funeral service at the home conducted by Rev. Stinnette.

An infant son, scarce a week old, was left motherless, and it, by its mothers dying request, will be taken and cared for by its grandmother, Mrs. Bray.

The Farnam Echo, Farnam, Dawson county, Nebraska. Saturday, April 1, 1905. Vol. 2, No. 18, page 1.

Note: On the same page as the above notice there is the following: Born to Mart Bray and his wife, Sat., March 25, a baby boy.

Mrs. Mart Bray died at her home about seven miles east of Stockville last Thursday night after a short illness.

The funeral service was held at the home Friday morning at ten o'clock and the remains were laid to rest in the Farnam cemetery, Rev. Stinnette conducting.

Mrs. Bray was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Delate and was married about two years ago to Mart Bray. An infant child not yet two weeks old is left motherless and her young husband, whose home is so ruthlessly destroyed by death's relentless hand, has the heartfelt sympathy of many friends and acquaintances.

[Edith Bray was born in Kansas September 5, 1882. Resided in Frontier county, Nebraska, the greater part of her life. She was married to Mart Bray April, 1903. To their union were born two children one of whom survives her. She died in Frontier County, March 30, 1905.]
